Cat Burns

Cat Burns is a New York based glass artist known for her appearances on two seasons of Blown Away and for her widely shared social media videos that offer an unfiltered look into studio life. She moved thirteen times before highschool but eventually called a farm in New Jersey home, Burns brings a grounded, self-driven perspective to her practice. The only thing she loves more than glass are the animals in her life.

She holds degrees in Glass Fine Art and Glass Craft & Design from Salem Community College, though much of her training was shaped through hands-on experience as a freelance assistant. In 2013, she relocated to Corning, New York, where she worked with both The Studio and the Corning Museum of Glass through 2019. Her favorite part of was the months she spent blowing glass on cruise ships, even crossing the Pacific twice.

Burns describes her work as a visual diary—both a record and a refuge. Drawing from personal experiences with mental health, degenerative eye conditions, and loss, she translates vulnerability into bright, tactile forms. Her work frequently incorporates intricate cane and murrini patterns that challenge visual perception, inviting viewers into a layered, and sometimes disorienting, sensory experience
