I didn’t realize how many stars I could no longer see until one night a few years ago my whole family was laying on the beach watching a meteor shower. Everyone kept gasping, “there’s one” or “oh look at that” while I just laid there. I had thought just my one eye was bad, not realizing the strain it had been putting on my good eye and how quickly I was losing little things.  

I can still see really bright stars, the moon, and every night I walk my dog in silence just soaking it all in. 

This work has connected me to so many people dealing with similar issues and made me feel less alone. This work is made with a special, stiff glass, so that every single star can be felt no matter how small. It is also meant to go on a light stand to create beautiful colors in the dark.
